I am new to this and although I have trained my dogs in obedience I have never gone to CGC level or Therapy Dog level. Do you need to have your CGC before you can get your Therapy Dog Certification?

no. some therapy groups dont require it, some do.. its still a good thing to have for your dog, as some homeowner insurance companies will insure you if your dog has his/her cgc(nationwide will)

i posted the actual CGC test in the training section, check it out... its a simple test, it shows the dog is basically a good well behaved citizen....

I did see the posting regarding the CGC test. I still have a decent amount of work to do with both my dogs to get to that point. Thank you for your reply.
