Trainers around Hollywood MD

This forum is all about training and behavior. Everything from potty training to working titles!

My future inlaws are getting a new Aussie puppy from the people that bred my aussie's dam. She's adorable.. cute mismark puppy with tons of white on her face, cute little black ears and a normal black tri body. They're naming her "Bailey". :)

They're going to be in NY till sept 2 but then will be going back home to their place near Hollywood Maryland till my future father in law retires shortly.

I would like to be able to give them some recommendations on trainers in the area. They're only looking for puppy/obedience classes, not performance or show classes. I just want them to help them get a jump start on training since they're new to the breed and haven't had a puppy in years but I don't want them to end up going to the local petsmart or something for classes.

Thanks in advance

One of my best friends, Michele, is living on the Eastern Shore now...

She's pretty good...doesn't use clicker - but does a lot of marker training...

Tell them to tell her that Katrina sent them...

Actually, both Michelle P. and Erin met her at my wedding...

Thanks! I checked out her website. It looks very outdated. The last group class started in 2008? Also you might want to tell your friend that her testemonials page was very confusing.. looks like it's a templete that she never changed? It has accounting and car testimonals on it from "Anytown USA". :-)

One question I had is $175 for 8 weeks normal in MA? Out here in the Rochester NY area you pay $90-$100 for 8 weeks!

BTW...Maryland is "MD" not "MA"...;)

It is outdated...I actually noticed she still has puppy pics of Bella (who is now 2)...

I think she does in-home sessions now, mainly...

I think cost changes depending on where you go...In some areas of MD, yes it can be $125-$200...especially once you get into the "richer" areas of MD...

Oh, and Erin, the only reason I didn't recommend you was because I know you're not that close to St. Mary's County...I just didn't want you to think I was recommending Michele over you...it was more a location thing...you were actually the first person I thought of...but then I realized that St. Mary's is rather far from you...so I thought of Michele who is now on the Eastern shore...

Michele is VERY cool, I liked her a LOT. HIGHLY recommended.

Let's put it this way... I knew her for 5 days and I'd trust her with our dogs. And you know how I am with my dogs.

Yep, and she's one of the few that we'd allow to become friends with Jue...

When we were on our honeymoon she took care of our dogs, including Drusilla and Apache...(she hadn't become friends with Jue, at that point, so Charlie had him)...
