I tried it, although I was a little sceptical at first. Seppel and I mainly worked on the "down" command.
Last night nature called, and since the puppy was sleeping I retreated to the "office" by myself.
30 seconds later... some whining at the other side of the door. I ignored it.
30 seconds later... some frantic scratching at the door. Also ignored.
Then a god-awful howling and even more frantic scratching. Couldn't ignore that, since I thought that the puppy might've hurt himself somehow.
I opened the door in a hurry - Seppel walks in, gives me a look, and proceeds to execute a prompt and perfect "down" on the bathroom floor, followed by a contended sigh.
All is well.
I'm thinking we'll need to bring some variety to our sessions.
Hmmm...maybe I could do it as a cool trick like when a trainer sneezes, and the dog is cued to get a kleenex...but instead I'll...
