I want to enroll Yoda in a CGC class at a local obedience school here in Rochester. My concern is that within the last year or so his dog aggression level has increased a bit and although he is generally ok around other dogs, he has become somewhat unpredictable.

Any thoughts on moving forward with something like this?

He doesn't have to interact with the other dogs in the class (if it's the one at DOTCORNY) or with the dog in the test. If he can keep his head on straight and just ignore the other dog you'll be fine. Even better, teach him the "focus" command and give it to him before the meet-n-greet so that he is watching you and not the other dog at all.

Sounds good, I'll brush up on his focus command

It is the class at DOTCORNY

What are your thoughts on the trainers there?

Also, just keep in mind, that smart handling comes in very handy in a CGC (you wouldn't think so)...Nisha has dog aggression...but I had her tested the other day...

How I passed that part:

I walked up to the dog, then made a quick u-turn where I told her to down, then stay...I then turned back around and said "hi" and shook hands with the other person...that way my dog wasn't face to face with the other dog....

some are excellent, some... aren't.

Talk to Meghan, she knows more about who and who not to take from.
