Starved Pit baby

Postby kayesmith » July 14th, 2006, 3:29 am

Perhaps these pictures can shed light on why I get angry when we speak of breeding Pit Bulls. I can't find enough responsible homes now, and if we don't quit breeding them they face certain termination. I am ok with responsible breeders, but these back yard breeders have got to stop. These poor babies were probably bred in hopes of being a money maker for some idiot. When they could not sell them, they dumped mom and the kids. This is so sad, and absolutely no excuse for it.[img][/img]

That poor pup. :( I can't even imagine the damage that lack of food does to the pup's development, both physically and psychologically.

Om my, what a little darling. I can't imagine why someone would let a puppy get to that point. :(

That is so sad. Babyreba and I were emailed about a pup in similiar condition at Baltimore city Animal Control. We just didn't have the space for him right now. We both have fosters and even though its a tiny baby, we just can't do it.

It breaks me heart. Luckily a rescue stepped up but I do not know which one.

This is Dru one month to the day of his rescue. He is doing great, he is the low man in the group. Joker is the alpha with sister Sarah Jane a close second. Shilo is the big boy weighing more than his sibs. They are over their sickness and gaining weight every day. We love them so much. They will be spuetered at the end of the month. [/img]

ImageThese are the boys. We have Joker on the left, Dru in the middle and Shilo on the right. They are doing great, and they no longer have to search for their food.

This is the only girl. We named her Sarah Jane. She is a hoot! She does not take any crap from her brothers, then will look all innocent at us. She is too die for cute! We have a foster home waiting for her. Jesseca is supposed to take Joker and foster him for us.

This is Dru and I taken today in our outside arena. They all are so very cute. Dru was the littlest one, but now you can not see all of his ribs, and bones. They are so much fun to watch when the are playing.

It's like a whole new dog! Amazing. I just want to put the two pictures of Dru next to each other so you can really see the difference.
