Wow....with all the need out there, I didn't think this would ever happen, but it has.
I had a bad foster experience and was taking my time in bringing in another adult.
I took in a pup, which was CAKE! That dog found an excellent home in 30 days, and other than some pee-pee on the carpet it was oh-so-easy.
I went down to the shelter we normally pull from and was introduced to a few dogs.
I felt an instant connection to a certain dog and have not been able to stop thinking about her. She's literally in my dreams.
We were being smart and slow about bringing her into my home, after Bella (resident dog) was attacked she's bit picky about her doggy friends.
The plan was to let the shelter dog meet my dogs individually and see how they do.
Problem......another rescue says they have a home for her. Great right? These people have never met the dog. They have a high adoption rate, which is rare for pitties I think. We are super careful about who adopts our dogs.
This dog has been through HELL! I want to see her in the home she deserves. I don't think a home where they know nothing about the dog is suitable is enough. Am I being selfish in wanting to pull her myself? I'm torn! Any advice?

No, not PAWS.
I don't even know the name of the rescue at this point.
All I know is I freaking love this dog!!!!
I can't get her out of my mind!
Shana sent an email, I'm hoping the shelter reconsiders and lets us pull her.
I would think when it comes to pulling her, it'd be first come first serve? Unless you know for a fact that this other rescue is going to be doing the extensive home checks that we do, I wouldn't trust them to safely place this girl. Go snag her! Just do it!
What's her name/story?

Oh I'd looked at her pictures before and it broke my heart! Go take her. Right now. Screw your job and go rescue her.

If it were up to me I'd be there right now!!!
The girl at the shelter already told this other rescue they could pull her. They are holding her for them. The only hope is if Shana can get her to change her mind.
She was actually considering having Taffy be her education dog...she's that wonderful.
The other rescue spoke for her first, there was no hope in pulling her. It was sad, but, I'm just being optimistic about her being in a great home....fingers crossed.
Here is a pic of me saying goodbye.
Here is the dog I pulled instead....she's a handful.
My dogs are acting like they want to eat her.
I'm hoping we'll be able to have them get along soon.
