Lost Marbles

Postby pocketpit » May 30th, 2006, 7:25 pm

Could someone please help me find my marbles? I seem to have lost them!
After all the talk about being at my limit with dogs I went and drug another one home :|
And not a little one either! Meet my new friend

Image

He's got a microchip but the owners never registered it and it was implanted in Marlyland :o I've got the shelter number and left messages, I'm hoping I can get them to call me back. I've also listed him with the local shelters and online and I'll be faxing the local vets since so far they have had no calls concerning a lost Bull Mastiff.
Soooo, I may have another foster in search of a new home.

Excellent point Purple!! Perhaps that's been my problem all along.

So far he's seems to be a typical Bull Mastiff. Very loving, goofy, sweet, loves laps and cuddling on the couch along with belly rubs, etc. He's pretty laid back, pulls like a freight train and thank god is quiet and pretty mellow. He shows way too much interest in cats for me and being an intact male I'm pretty certain he's not good with male dogs. He's not overly aggressive though (ie, he can behave on a leash and doesn't react to the sight of other dogs) so that's promising. He's met Dice very briefly and did okay with her but we'll be taking things very slowly with the introductions. He's not shy and dealt with being in the clinic and handled by various people without missing a beat or showing the slightest hesitation. I've handled his feet, ears, tail, etc without any problems. Only time will tell but so far seems a very solid candidate for adoption if we don't find an owner.

He does need a name however so suggestions are welcomed :)

Hercules. I don't think the dog from "The Sandlot" was actually a bullmastiff but thats what I thought of when I first looked his picture.

Oooh that's a good one!

He also looks like a Hank or a Horatio.

Something about him just demands an "H" name I guess!!

hmm...

Charlie?

We had a 101 kg (thats right, 101 KILOGRAM) English Mastiff (possiby a cross) at the Clinic the other day named "Milton"

Ed

Frankie

You could always name him after a car model :lol3: (my friend's Great Danes, 'Malibu' and 'Beaumont', her hubby restores classic muscle cars..)

Or maybe he needs something intense... he has very intense eyes...
