Hopefully they will love him enough to get him through this.

Apparently his left eye is bulging a bit so they think he might have something up in his nostril/sinus and they are going to scope him. He's plugged up in that same nostril that he's always had trouble with. Of course the worse diagnosis would be tumor or something up in there but I refuse to think about that. No fever at all.

hopefully they will find nothing more than an eye from a stuffy or something equally as trivial that will fix the problems permanently and little dude can move on with his life.

I know you know this..but if they aren't able to undertake this, he can always come back to me. Just let me know and I can come and get him.

Diana, I told Karin the same thing....that if they couldn't handle it, I'd pay them back everything and take Dash back in a heart beat. However, they are the best adopters ever and are totally dedicated to Dash and already love him.

AND, I heard from Karin this morning and he's doing MUCH better! In fact she said he's tearing around the house like a crazy puppy. :D His eye is not bulging anymore so they think it was perhaps some sort of sinus issue. She send along some pics that I'll post up when I have more time.

Yay for Dash! What a fighter and it really does take a village.

Me too. His vet thinks that because he had such a rough start, once he gets sick he goes down fast because his immune system is still not fully recovered.

So..Dash update and not a good one. DIana..may need your input on this. Dash has never had penumonia though he presented that way. He crashed yet again and a CT scan showed that Mr. Dash has NO Sinus passageways. It is all bone. He basically has a pin hole on one side and nothing on the other so..Diana..just so you know, his adopters don't feel they can keep him. They are 5 grand into him. And have a puppy that still needs several grand worth of vet care. The vet says there is no reason anyone should have seen this or suspected it. But he is a pretty amazing little dude to have survived this long. He needs surgery NOW. Or euthinasia. But the vet feels this can be fixed and he can go on to have a normal, happy and healthy life.

Well crap. We need to get him back down here so I can have one of our local area specialists take a look and see if I can twist their arms into a very sharp penciled surgery. I would very much hate to see him euthanized when I'm pretty sure I have an avenue to get hiim fixed.

How quickly does he need to leave, let's make arrangements.

I can only tell you his lungs crackled when he breathed for the first 7-10 days...so ... anyway, tell me when and where and we'll pick him up. I have way too much invested in this pup to go down without a fight

Why does this stuff always happen when I'm out of town? I can get him transported anywhere as well. I've got one more option I can look into tomorrow, I know a vet that does services and procedures for REALLY needy rescue animals for free but I'm not sure they are experienced in this type of surgery. Diana, do you know what the latest is that's going on with Dash?
