Miss D is still here. The rescue in NY, Ryley's Run, has completely disappeared. Donna is not replying to my emails and hasn't replied to calls either. Nice. To top that off, I found out the rescue in WI may not be completely reputable. Great.

Soooo, now I have an interesting perdicament. I guess I'll have to start looking for another rescue, but I think that will be difficult for many reasons. I cannot keep her either, but I refuse to take her back to the shelter because I know what they will do with her. Looks like Miss D will be here for awhile.

Please keep your eyes and ears open for a rescue that can help Dozia. Thanks.

Thanks, Kat.

I did some digging today and found a bunch of crap on Ryley's Run and Donna Sullivan. OMG! The only reason I trusted her was because Dawn had worked with Donna. I will not make that mistake again. She screwed us over on two dogs. Draco and Dozia. Thank Dog Dawn found a different rescue to take Draco. I also dug around on Tammi (the other rescue), but could not find anything bad on her. So, I will continue to work with her on finding a home for Miss D. Wish us luck!

Mods - can I post a link to the dirt I dug up on the bad rescue? It would be a good warning for others.

Oh it's alright. I know a wonderful family that is just perfect for Miss D will come along soon enough. I'm just so ticked at that woman. How could someone do this???

Thank goodness D is a real sweetheart. I don't know what I'd do with a dog that wasn't as sweet as this girl. I also see this as a learning experience, all the way around. She is being slowly socialized and I'm learning how to make this work. :D

I was just coming here to ask for your email so I could send you the DNR on Donna and Ryley's Run. That freaking sucks. I had heard bad things before but I didn't know from personal experience and didn't want to step on any toes since Dawn seemed to have vouched for her :(

No worries, Jenn. Donna had Dawn fooled just like she fooled so many others. Donna even told Dawn there were some people saying bad things about Ryley's Run, but those people were mad at Donna for not taking dogs from them!! She tried to cover her bases.

Dawn is out a few hundred dollars on Draco, but some folks are out A LOT more! There are a couple of dogs Donna "screwed" that are in need of immediate rescue. I'll share the link on FB.

My little girl finally has a home of her own!! The adoption was approved today. Dozia's furever mama is a botanist at Chicago Botany Gardens and her new daddy is a Team Chief in the U.S. Army. I could not be prouder or happier for her!! Her new mama stays in their permanent home whenever daddy is deployed, so no worries about Dozia's safety or stability. Looks like Ms. Dee will be living the good life!! She's leaving this weekend. Though it's been a little difficult at times, I'm going to miss this sweetheart!

I must say too that I'm pretty proud of myself for not a single dog fight in the two+ months Dozia was here! Truly a lot of credit is due to the wonderful information I've learned from the folks on this forum. You helped this foster situation to be a positive experience for all involved when without this forum it could have been a disaster.

Honestly, if it were not for everything I've learned here and all the wonderful support, Dozia would be dead right now. Let me assure you she is a dog who deserves to live and have a happy life. For as much as people give me kudos for saving her, I give you all the same.

Angie can you verify where Dozia is right now? Like personally, not where the rescue told you she is. I'm asking for a reason so bear with me. I just received a VERY disturbing crosspost email about Dozia and the rescue group who helped you place her. Can you email me please?
