Friend looking for a Golden

And no, she can't have Astro...he already has his collar from Collarmania, so he is mine.

Anyone know of good Golden rescues in the tri-state area? She is on Long Island but willing to travel a bit.

Does not have to be a puppy or specific gender. She has young children (6 and up) and 3 cats.

Joyce...is she set on a pure bred? My friends rescue (LI/Queens based) has a golden mix listed...not sure if she's a cross-post though, I can find out more info if you'd like. Here is Betsy:

These folks are based in CT and have volunteers all over the tri-state area. Nice group of folks -- met a bunch of them at the CT Pet Expo last weekend.
