Urgent in Eastern WA!!

Postby msvette2u » April 21st, 2006, 4:50 pm

Transport could be arranged...

This dog has sat in the shelter for SIX MONTHS. His owner pled guilty yesterday, to Animal Cruelty II.

He needs out NOW. He is believed to be 1/2 English Bulldog and 1/2 who-knows-what.
Very sweet dog with people, cat-aggressive and possibly dog-aggressive but the dog aggression could be from sitting in the SHELTER for 6 months!!He has until Monday (the 24th) for someone to step up and rescue...I hate to rush like that but he's sat there for six months already...

The condition he was in when I seized him.

He is even better (fatter) than this today...

YES I thought I had to appear in court to testify on Monday but apparently the guy pled guilty, the paperwork came in yesterday. The new code enforcement guy asked what we ought to do with him. He said he's been kenneled next to a pit bull for the past few days with no aggression issues but that's not to say he won't have a problem face-to-face.
But with people...the dog is a mush...

Just spoke with the court, who said that he pled an "Alfred Plea" which means...
“The Alfred plea allows people to plead guilty without actually admitting guilt, It essentially says that they believe the evidence will show guilt.”

I just learned what that meant last night on Court TV.

How certain are you with the cat agression?

Aw thanks so much. I will miss it!! I'm still hoping to find another job like it, enforcing laws and gettin' those criminals!!

Well...I have no idea really but he's EXTREMELY interested in cats. He exibited very excited behavior towards them even from the first day I picked him up, straining at the leash and trying to get to the cat at the vet office.
He has tolerated my shelter cat being there at the shelter and not gone bonkers. He does react strongly to the Vet clinic cats.

I'd just feel horrid if I didn't say he was, and assumed he'd be OK and something bad happened to some kitty. My shelter cat is so afraid of everything, but one day she was walking near and rubbing on his kennel run and he wasn't reacting. :|

ETA: I forgot to mention that when I asked the owner this dog's name, he said "We just call him 'dog' " :(

Thanks Lauren...I just wish it had not taken so freaking long for him to plead guilty (even if it was an "Alfred Plea")

Violet can take him but not for another week. Can anyone hang on to him temporarily until then?
