They are really cute. Fingers crossed that they will be good at catching mice too. So far they catch bugs, and are very bold, so i am hopeful they will be good barn kitties.

We named them Frosty and Domino (b/c he has 3 perfect circles on his back over his shoulders, can't really tell from the pics)

Im sure, i always do.

The scary part was that DH said he'd leave if any more pets showed up. Thought he was on board with an outdoor cat and he loves cats, so didn't bother asking him before i brought the kitties home. He sees the kittens, and 5 minutes later he left w/o saying anything else to me - I was like 'crap, he meant it!'

He was annoyed, but he was leaving to get gas for the mower. He was calm when he came back (he does love kitties) and he blamed it on the fact that both my sisters just had babies and i've been a teensy bit jealous, so he thought it was just baby lust, so all is forgiven.

youre going to make them outside cats? there are lots of rescues that would adopt to you "barn cats". cats that cant be inside cats for one reason or another. these guys are babies and should be kept safe from the outdoors.

just like dogs shouldnt be adopted for "protection", cats shouldnt be adopted for "mousers".

Actually that is not quite true. I have tried to adopt cats in the past and been told that they want indoor homes only. This is when the shelter is overloaded and they are probably euthanizing them. These kittens came from a barn and I told them I intended them to be outdoor cats and they were fine with that.

Generally i would agree with you, but no one was offering any homes for these guys.

That's an interesting comment. I specifically got Riggs to be a protection dog.
