Tip the Pit mix in Illinois

Postby HappyChick » June 10th, 2008, 7:11 pm

Here is a link to this sweet boy:
http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displa ... d=11024178

This cutie pie is in our local shelter and as of yesterday is adoptable. He was picked up as a stray and no one has claimed him. I've had some personal experience with Tip and he is so sweet and lovable! He is not hyper, but loves to play "get the stick". I can see some PB in him and he has the frog legs too! When I put him on a leash, he insists on holding the other end of the leash in his mouth and walks right along side of me. It looks like he's walking himself! He is estimated to be 7 months old.

He gets 21 days and then it's the needle. He was picked up on June 2.

A couple more pics I took today of this sweetie boi...

He is showing himself to be very intelligent too! As I said before, he does very well on a leash. He sits super well and with a couple of practices I think he has "lay down" too! He loves the treats! His personality tends to be on the "chillin' like a villian" side. I think I'm falling in love....

Update for those who may be following this story:

Last night after telling my BF again what a fabulous dog "tip" is and describing everything in greater detail than I did on this forum, BF (Joe) said "then let's just get him now". We adopted him today. His name is now Renato Guiseppe Canino, or Reno for short! He is on shut down right now and all is wonderful. BTW, this is my FIRST adoption and it feels really good! Friday the 13th is a good day for all of us and he is a great early b-day present. I'll post new and fabulous pics in the gallery soon.

Yes! I do too. That's o.k. with me though cause I don't think it's a lot of lab - like my Guido. Reno is probably 25 lbs. at approx. 7 months old. G is 45 lbs at full grown. I think that is what drew me to him -- he reminds me so much of Guido (with a touch of Vincenzo), similar genetics and smarts. Highly trainable dogs and extremely obedient.

I see mostly lab. We have one from a breeder around here that works as an Assistance Dog...chocolate with ears like that! As he's gotten older, they break a little differently when he's calm...lol
