Thrown out on his ear - A little Graphic

Laddie was thrown from a moving vehicle, and landed on his ear, splitting it open. He was found by a kind gentleman, up in a remote area of the country near a plastic bag which the man felt he'd been tied up in prior to being thrown from the car.

I seriously wish we could find people who do these things and make them see that animals are NOT TRASH.

Laddie was covered in fleas and has been treated for fleas, vaccinated and dewormed with two types of wormer.

He's also been bandaged and hopefully his ear will heal up fine.
We don't like to post graphic photos but in this case we want people to see and understand what rescues do and what horrible people are out there who do things like this to innocent animals.

Laddie will be altered 12-19-07 and ready for home after that.

That is just so sad. Besides the external wounds do you think anything happened internally?

Send me some info and pics, and I'll post him all over my Aussie boards and lists!

That is one of our concerns, yes but...we found out what is wrong.
It turns out he has eaten rat poison - when I spoke w/the city guy (code enforcement there) he pointed out that anyone who would bag a dog up and throw it out like trash WOULD give him rat poison too.

This is why we could not keep his ear from bleeding - his hematocrit this AM was 10 - normal is 30...it is literally a miracle he is alive at this point.
They gave him a blood transfusion, and he's reacting to that so they had to give him Benadryl and a steroid for the reaction he's having which is a fever.
They sent out his blood to the lab who ran a clotting test and "normal" is 20-30 seconds.
After 100 seconds they quit counting - it had not clotted.

His ear wound which is basically an abrasion like road rash, has stopped bleeding FOR REALS now but the rat poison will destroy his platelets and clotting ability again - he's now on Vitamin K orally and I'll pick him up in a little bit so he can stay here with us overnight.

Anyway - it's been a really SUCKY day...!! But he's still alive...!

He is home with us now and not bleeding - has to be in crate to avoid hurting himself, he'll be at risk for about a week, until the Vitamin K reverses the clotting problem :(
He's NOT BLEEDING though - finally...

A little but it doesn't last very long. He's pretty worn out.
He barked at the clinic, though, wanting out :)
