URGENT--- dog has 1 hour

Postby luvmypitties » November 17th, 2007, 5:59 pm

Please help me. I found a small dog on the side of a major highway, interstate 95. I picked her up and had her in my car all day while I was at work. She did nothing but lay there. Didnt destroy anything. Rode well in the car. She is an absolute sweet heart. She is about 30 pounds maybe less as I am a bad guesser. She is tan with a black muzzle. Since I have had her in the house she has been laying in a crate and now she is laying on my floor. She smiles and really big. She has a cute underbite. She does have mange though. It looks to be the type that is not contagious, demodex.

Please if someone can hold her til I find a rescue or if someone is willing to take her in please call me at 540-322-6010.

here are her pictures.

She made it to a rescue. But I have some people very ineterested in adopting her.

Sorry to sound so frantic in previous posts I was just afraid my mom would take her away from me and drop her somewhere.

Thanks. So far she is doing great. She is getting spayed and everythin checked out this week. Keep fingers crossed she is heartworm negative!!!

She is still in a run by herself since she is so scared of the dogs larger than her.

Thats what I think. She is a Fredericksburgian mutt. Maybe some cocker, something with a big underbite, and I dont know what else. Hopefully when her fur grows back and she gains more weight she might look like something!

That is a nice website, Tina. Are you involved with them? Their animal biographies are really well written.

Yes I used to work there full time and then some. It is run by my best friend's family. They do really great work, taking in 20 or more dogs in 2 weeks and placing about 20 dogs a weekend. They are a great rescue and help out local shelters a lot and also people who want to keep their pets but dont have the resources. They give food, free spays and neuters to good people who mean well with their pets but dont have the money to do so.

The woman who does their profiles is so creative! She does a great job at protraying the dogs' personality! Really helps out plus she fosters several litters and takes their pictures every week!!!

I wrote Petfinder bios for the dogs at the shelter I volunteered with. I always tried to make them funny.

I was also in charge of the big sign outside the shelter. I wrote things like:

"Still have no friends? Adopt a dog."
