DOZER....Sweet PB American Bulldog needs loving home ASAP!

Postby ProudBullyMama » September 6th, 2007, 9:59 pm

Hey everybody..
here's my new fosterbully...Dozer. Yes..from Ohio. I had posted an urgent transport needed bulletin last week to get him from Ohio to me..in MD....and here he is!
He happened to have a rabies tag from his shot last year...so i called the # on it & gave them his tag number, & that's how we found out his name. Soon as we said it his tail started goin a mile a minute lol
He's a PB American Bulldog. I just got him the other day so i haven't had him vetted yet. I will be doing that some time this week, so i will have more info on him...at least a vet's guess on his age.
The woman from the rescue in Ohio who pulled him & got him to me guessed about 2yrs old...but i don't really know. He lays around alot....i'm so use to pitbulls & the constant energy that it makes me feel like he's a little older just cuz he's way more calm , but he is also probably about 100lbs or more...he's well over weight...i have him on a diet now.
Apparently the owner who surrendered him was feeding him, cuz he looks like he never missed any meals...but after having him here the first day, and him rejecting dogfood...i'm thinking they probably just fed him people food, from the looks of it not the healthiest.
I've been weaning him INTO dogfood by first mixing it w/ people food (which i do for mine anyway lol)...but now he's pretty cool w/ it...so long as i mix it w/ wet dog food.
yea..He's a bit of a cow LOL
Funny thing about it...to me that's what makes him so appealing....he's such a big smush!!!
My kids have been wanting to sleep in my bed just so they can sleep w/ him,...he takes up more than half...but they don't care...they just luv cuddling w/ him...and he's so gentle too.
When u give him a treat or anything...he's so careful not to bite..he'd rather it fall & hit the floor.
He's TOTALLY HOUSEBROKEN!! Hasn't had 1 accident in my house...not even the first day.
It was funny too...cuz he'd only been here a cpl of hrs so i was still feeling him out....we're just sitting on the floor playing...he just got up n sat down in front of me...and barked! Lordy..for a second he had me a little shook...cuz comin off of death row i had no idea what was goin thru his head....and he's so big he just looks intimidating anyway....well...he did it again..so i asked him if he had to go outside....and he went right to the door prancing!!!
What a good boy! I was impressed! And he's just been that way since he's been here. No accidents...not even close. And when u can't take him out right away...he'll just bark once intermitently just to remind u. lol
We're going to hate to see this big boy go...especially my son...who does nothing but hug n kiss him & tell him how much he luvs him. But truth is...till i get my farm property i can't keep more than the 2 pitties i have.
I rescued this guy becuz he was going to be gassed that day had we not come thru for him...but now that he has his second chance i really want him to go to a home w/ a HUGE yard...maybe even a barn...where he can run around & be trully happy.
Anyone who is SERIOUS please contact me at home 301-725-8102 my name is Tania.
Of course I will need to get references & do a home check.
If u are out of state, I can try to arrange for a rescue closeby to assist w/ the home check.
SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE!

Here's some pics of the big lug...
the first few pics were taken in the car on the ride from Hagerstown...where i met Deb, the transport "angel" who transported him from Ohio.

What a cutie . . . and what a tub-o-lard! lol

He looks absurdly happy in every picture. What a sweet boy.
