Well, we are still battling the hershey squirts on occasion. Not mucousy or anything, just loose. There is a bit of blood in the stool of the black one every now and then.
They are eating and drinking well, however. No vomiting, or lethargy. (In fact, I wish they'd be still for a bit.) Their eyes have cleared up, and they are much, much brighter.
They have got super-high prey drives...if it moves, they are on it like white on rice on a paper plate in a snowstorm! The black one grunts like a pig, and makes all kinds of noises...she talks constantly.
Great personalities, both of them. The little runt we've been calling Piglet, because of her shape and the way she walks. I'm calling the black one Mustang Sally, because she skids from one end of the house to the other. They are two of the most affectionate dogs I've ever been around. They love to be cuddled like stuffed animals. (They feel like stuffed animals, too. The softest, fuzziest coats ever.)
We have an appointment with the vet next week, and once we've got a clean bill of health on them, we will look into how early we can safely have them spayed.
Right now we are talking with my aunt, who lives in Houston, about a possible "dog trade." We would take the pittie she took in, and give her the lab pups. UNLESS, that is, anyone is interested in either one of them now. *hint*
They crate trained almost immediately, and will go lay down in it when they are tired, or want a place to chew. (They have a thing for socks. I had to clean out from underneath the bed, because they kept finding them for me.)
So far so good, I suppose. Having four dogs all under the age of six months is quite a challenge, but it is nice to have separate front and back yards. I can't see why ANYONE would WANT to breed a dog and have a litter running around. I'm not even sure if I want kids at this point!! (Kidding...sorta.)
Paul and I have figured we are a pretty good team. We are even managing to work on wedding planning at the same time! (We did have to cancel plans to go out of town today though. We didn't want to leave them alone all evening.)
Still could use an extra crate though!
