I have been given my boss' blessing to approach the Warden about bringing Inara to work. My boss doesn't have an issue with it, but he anticipates the Warden will be concerned mainly about two things:
1. Liability if Inara bites an inmate
2. Liability if an inmates hurts Inara
I already verified with my insurance that my homeowners liability insurance will be responsible if Inara bites anybody at the prison. However, I don't know about #2. Would I agree to sign a waiver that I won't sue the institution if an inmate hurts Inara?
I obviously wouldn't be trying to bring her with me if I felt she would be in danger. She will be with me, in my office, supervised at all times. I'm not planning on letting inmates interact with her much, if at all. I'm sure I'll allow a few to pet her, but it will be short and sweet. Obviously if inmates start getting rowdy, she's getting locked in my office for her safety.
Any ideas on how to address number 2, or any other ideas for convincing the Warden this is a good idea and he should at least give me a trial run?
