Yup that's what I use. As long as you don't have poop eaters it's great!

One of my clients has two super poop eating Labs (shocking, I know) and she found them outside having knocked the cover off of the poop bin in the yard and going to town like they were at an all you can eat buffet :puke:

I only have one dog to pick up after and he's enough for me. He goes where ever he feels like outside so it's not really a 'problem' for me. Couldn't tell you how often we pick it up (don't get me wrong, our backyard isn't disgusting by any means).... We have HUGE trees and because we have a lot of huge leaves with them, it's hard to find it. He always seems to miss stepping in it when he's running around like a freaking maniac.

We also use an old cat liter bucket with a trash bag and lid to keep it in... When it's full, it goes to the dump. Seperate bucket for the cat, too.

When we first got him and were house traning him we made the mistake of setting him outside on the deck (it was winter at the time) and we let him go on it.... Now that' he's three, he STILL pisses on the deck (if it's an in/out thing) but still uses the yard, too. He's just... weird.

The puppies were pooping in the snow on the driveway...they had to cross the driveway at the end, to get from the basement into the backyard. Now that the snow has cleared, and it's not treacherous for me to scoop...I'm going to ahve to scoop the driveway. piles of poo everywhere...it's really gross.

Piles of wet, soggy, half-disintegrated poo everywhere. Yuck.

Also: I hate my new scooper. You get what you pay for, I suppose; it was definitely cheaper than my old one. My old scooper broke a couple of days ago and I bought a new one. I was excited because the handle is longer and the collection part is bigger. But it's one of the ones that's sold in two pieces and snaps together, and it is the most poorly designed thing ever. it keeps coming apart and the scooper is perhaps TOO big and doesn't really open wide enough. >(

Sorry. I'm in a mood this morning. I need more coffee.

I have a fantastic scooper...it's just a bent rake, but I can use it with one hand, and hold a poop bucket/bag with the other hand. Since I scoop other people's yards too (more often than mine!), it's much nicer than a two-handed scooper.

Mine has the spring-loaded trigger handle with the "claw" style collection mechanism. I loved the one I had, but it was short and it tweaked my back to stoop over. I was just waiting for it to die to buy a new one, and sure enough I cheap out and buy a crappy one. No pun intended. So now I will waste TWICE as much money going out and buying a good one. I'm completely spoiled by it.

Though a bent rake is sounding better and better.

Pretty well actually...I mean, it does leave some behind...but not as much as I would have thought.

Very true about carrots. What if you hook Simon up on a tether or section off part of the yard? That way you'd only have to look in a specific area?

I don't pick up every day with ONE dog and we ALL still end up stepping in it!! I think I have developed a special/specific frustrated roar just for stepping in dog poop! :mad2:
