I submitted a resume yesterday morning for a position and actually had a call back yesterday afternoon about the job - first time that has happened! It's a temp to hire job at the a local university through a contract company. Great job, great pay. She told me to change my resume around a little, and I made the changes and sent it back this morning.
She asked about my last job (of course) and I told her I was layed off. Which, of course, I'm sure everyone says, and I told her that it was a mutual decision (which is what the termination contract thingy that I signed states.) She seemed rather non-committal about it until I said that my last interview was actually set up for me by my former employer, and the person who called me started the call with "I was golfing with your ex-boss yesterday and he spoke very highly of you and we'd like to have you in for an interview."
I'm waiting to hear back from her now about an interview now, she seemed very positive yesterday about my chances to get to that step at least.
A position at a university would offer flexibility to keep doing the photography as well, and take classes to get better at it...
so if you have some spare prayers and good thoughts, send them my way please.
