Does any New Yorker recognize....

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

the bug I am going to explain...... :wave2:

Here is the story: I know what it is NOT. I just don't know what it IS. I am guessing NY/LI people might know what they are.

It is NOT: a bed bug, a silverfish, a cockroach (gross....) a flea, a firebrat, a termite or a beetle you find on your flowers.

Here is the description:

1) the size of the head on a straight pin

2) exoskeleton....or at least seems crunchy when you squish it.

3) a dark brown/black color

3) sort of "hop" or "jump" like a mexican jumping bean when they move, but don't really seem to have visible wings or legs.

4) I don't like them and while I do not have any, I want to know what they are.

Anyone recognize them from the description?

Nobody? :sad2:

Oh, and maybe it DOES have wings, but they are too small to see.

If you don't have them then how do you know about them? Did you see them at a friend's?

I don't remember having a bug like that, and I would have sworn we had every type of bug known to that area when we lived in Brooklyn......

I have a friend who has them, and that's why I don't have a photo. She only has "a few" but they are grossing her out. :rolleyes2: I don't think she would take a photo of them, because she is usually running the other direction.

Someone told her "spring tail" but when we google it, we really don't see the same kind of bug.
