I got a BIG photography job this weekend. I cold-called a horse show and "shouldered" my way into shooting the entire thing. I have two other photographers working with me, but it's still major stress.

In a month of being unemployed, I've only landed a single, solitary phone interview... and the follow up call was to confirm that I was not getting the in-person interview. *sigh*

So, this job needs to go well because it could be the stepping stone to more work down the line.

I also just dropped some serious coin that I don't really have into some equipment because of the catch-22 of needing equipment to get jobs but not getting jobs because I need equipment...

I know you'll do great to. I don't have big fancy equipment and I have shot several shows that my sister has attended with good results. Better than most of the show photographers and that is not just my opinion.

You are a talented person and with good equipment, I don't see how you won't knock their socks off! I'll be sending my most positive thoughts in your direction.

That's not the way we generally phrase things with horse shows.

The show was looooooong. Got there at 7:20, left at 6:30. Got roasted all day in the sun and literally did not get a break all day. Neither did Royal or Steph who were shooting with me. We kept waiting for the judges to have a lunch break, but no such luck. I just made fliers to put up for tomorrow, and put pictures on them. So went through some of the more than 2,500 pictures I shot to pick out a few for it. Here they are.





















Off to bed. Another impossibly long day tomorrow. And I am usually the queen of sunscreen, and I totally forgot about putting any on. My face is the exact same color as the forum. Tomorrow is going to be painful.
