Splashing around in a kiddie pool with a Husky I walked today. Before out walk I thought it'd be fun to take a dip. :D

So, last year when I volunteered to photograph at the Stuart Horse Trials, I was told by the first person I spoke to (who had never heard of me, nor viewed a single one of my photographs) that I could volunteer, but that I "Shouldn't expect to have one of my photos chosen to be on the website banner or on the program, those photographs are done by the professionals."

So... I brush it off and decide to "only" be a "web photographer" for the event. Had a fantastic time, watched some amazing horses and riders, and had an overall really fun (blazingly hot) four days.

Well, though there were a handful of "professionals" there, one of my photos WAS selected to be on the web banner for the entire year and I just found out that one, possibly two, of my photos are going to be on the poster and program for 2011.

Sadly, the trials are the weekend before the wedding, so I won't be able to shoot the full event this year, but I'm hoping to be there one day at least.

Nice work, Michelle! <3 SHT, I'll be jump judging for the 6th year in a row during the cross country day :)

It always seems like there are some really top notch photographers there, I love seeing all the photos afterwards!

Seven mile hike this morning...Inara, Score and Fig are all happy and tired. We have a four mile one tomorrow...not sure who's going then. Off-leash hiking, so while I went 7 miles, they did at least double that, all while running/trotting...lol...amazing stamina

Finally some decent weather...I can shower in the morning, knowing that I won't get sweaty and disgusting during the day!

I'm living with my cousin right now and he has two dogs. One of them is a total bitch but when she was younger he worked with her a lot. Tonight I was going for a jog and my cousin asked if I wanted to take Daisy - the bitch dog. I told him yes, his dogs live in choke chains and the last time I walked her I had to correct her quite a bit because she's used to pulling with a choke on. This time I grabbed Seth's prong, put a couple links in it to fit her and put it on her. She was pretty much an angel. I only had to give her a few corrections - she's dog reactive, but with this collar on she was way, way, way softer than I have ever seen her before. She was really, really good, and very light and responsive. She has the potential to be a pretty good dog, I think I will take her on my morning jogs since in the evenings I ride my bike with my own dogs. I was just really impressed by the whole thing. I really didn't like her initially because she's socially confused, but I'm starting to appreciate her more positive qualities.

Took Figgy to the nursing home this morning...brought a beach ball. He ran around, chasing it, bumping it into everyone, acting like an idiot...and they LOVED it. I haven't heard them laugh this much since...last time I took Figgy and a beach ball in there! lol Even the guy that claims he doesn't like the dogs played this time, and was grabbing the ball and tossing it to Fig. I love to see them all smiling and laughing!

There's something about that little Figgy...

The dogs got to go swimming today, they haven't been able to really swim and retrieve so far this year...and they were HAPPY! Puzzle stayed home, because she's limping due to a pulled muscle...the others got to go, and are exhausted! Score, Fig, Xander and Inara swam, Bean played ball on land, and Rip wandered from person to person eating his weight in roast beef (it was a graduation party).

Got my iphone wet at the beach, thought it was toast... put it in rice and ran a hot blow dryer over it and it's alive!

So, so thankful.
