eBay - Disgusting

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby pitbullmamaliz » April 16th, 2006, 7:52 pm

So I went to eBay and typed "pit bull" in the search box. It's disgusting what kind of crap is coming up - so much stuff portraying our pitties as vicious and blood-thirsty. But this one may take the cake:

I sent a message to this guy asking what he isn't going to adopt a FREE pittie from a shelter and save a life in the process. I'll be interested to see if he responds.

I'm taking donations to get a gotti / razor's edge pit bull puppy.
The pup is 5 weeks right now. He is the one on the far left.
My last dog was poisoned about 3 months ago.
I have tryed to save up the $1500 to get a new one but looks like I can't save enough.
So anything you can donate please send via paypal to chyna@ravejuice.com .
If you win this auction and its over $200 you will win the right to help me pick the name of the pup.

that is what it said. i dont think he is selling the dogs is he?

If he can't afford the price of the dog he shouldn't own the dog, period.

When his dog gets hit by a car, has Gastric Torsion, a foreign body, or something else, what is he going to do, make up an Ebay page and hope that people donate fast enough?

He shouldn't own any dog if he thinks its someone else's responsibility to help him pay for one.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Holy hell he responded! Here's his reply (I asked why he wasn't adopting for free and saving a life):

I have looked around here. I can't find any. I did find one but it was used as a fighting dog. I have small kids. I do not want a dog that is trained to attack anything. At 5years old I was attacked by a bulldog so I know how bad this sucks.

The initial "purchase" or adoption price, IMO, is not a whole lot in comparison with potential medical costs (especially for any puppy, who as we know are prime candidates for foreign body obstructions and food poisonings etc...

I just think that the "getting started" costs of owning a dog can really pale in comparison if you run into bad luck, and since he doesn't even have the "getting started" bit that it most likely is not a good time to have a dog period. :|

The fool probably could not PASS an adoption application from any reputable rescue.

This begs the question "who poisoned the dog" and if it was tied up in the back yard when it happened what is to stop someone from poisoning the new $1500.00 dog??
I did report this to ebay, since he's not even auctioning anything off but only asking for donations.
