Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Posted this on Facebook yesterday after angering many people yesterday by disagreeing with them:

I truly fear Facebook is removing our abilities to interact with each other in meaningful ways. It's too easy to just click on a "like" button and move on instead of even a simple, "I agree," or "that reminds me of...." I'm guilty of this every day.

I used to send emails to friends, and text messages, and have phone calls where we talked about our days instead of just putting up a quick status update (and having somebody "like" it!).

I also think Facebook is removing our abilities to put up with disagreement amongst people. Whether it's dog training, dog breeding, dog rescue, abortion, gun control, politics, etc, instead of saying, "I disagree with you, and here's why" in a polite manner and having civil, friendly debates, we block people who disagree with us. Or unfriend them. Or hide them from our newsfeeds. Or tell them they're mean. My friends, we don't have to all agree on everything. It's okay to disagree. And it's okay to TALK about why you disagree. Disagreeing with somebody doesn't mean that you hate them or that they're bad. It means we're HUMAN and we all have our own beliefs.

I am contemplating no longer reading my newsfeed or posting as much. I may just stick to the special interest groups that I'm a member of, that I love. I am going to try to make more phone calls, and send more emails, to have that more personal interaction. When I do read the newsfeed, I'm going to try to not just "like" something, but to actually comment on it and provide feedback. It's not going to change the world, I know this. But maybe if we all tried harder to have personalized interaction with people, we just might improve our lives, and those of our friends, a bit.

I had to laugh when a couple people liked it without commenting.

So my tenant tells me yesterday that one of the dogs from the people that live behind us was in our back yard. If these people were normal responsible people I would not have been worried but......THEY ARN'T! They have a revolving door on unruly obnoxious badly trained dogs! The dog in question weighs about 130-150 lbs. So this morning I go to check and see how their dog is getting through the fence and what do I find...OH that's nice! THE FENCED IN BACK YARD ISN'T SO FENCED!!!!!!!!!! These turd bags had a roll of fencing and a rotten board filling the hole in their fencing. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: Normally this would have been obvious to me but the spot where this gap is is on a hard to reach side of my garage and not easy to get to. From their side it is completely accessible and visible!!!!!!! So tonight I get to figure out which house is theirs on their street and inform them that they need to fix this yesterday!
Not only am I a member of the Michelle says my dog is fat club I'm the president!

Dear self proclaimed positive dog trainer that doesn't use positive methods:
Copying and pasting links on Facebook does *NOT* a dog rescuer make. :nono:
