lol... teens aren't the only ones who 'think" that way.
Bi-polar is a tricky disease... but meds are the best way to get a handle on it.
I know I gripe about her, but I do love her to bits... I just wish she could learn from my mistakes... even though I know it doesn't work that way.
And if the Army can teach her self-discipline and responsibility I'm all for the experience.

Yes meds are the best way to deal with it....

however, as Joyce said, i think there's something innate with bipolar disease, that interferes with the persons ability to learn from their own, or others mistakes...

I see it all the time, where they get on meds, meds are going great, no side effects, no rocky times, even moods...

and then they stop them.

Maybe the military can get her to understand she needs them, or maybe the bipolar will help her to get out of the military.....

A LOT of people do the same thing. My ex mother in law was bi-polar, and had other mental issues as well ( paranoid schizophrenia to name one) and would do great on her meds. Think she was fine, stop taking them & spiral out of control. It is a horrible thing to watch and live with. They are not illnesses you can feel or see and it is DAMNED hard to admit that you are fucked up. Your mind TELLS you that you are ok. And usually, on meds, you are.

I've gotten about a dozen letters by now (ALL complaints)... :rolleyes2:

Yesterday I also got a phone call and Jessica sounded GOOD!
She says "hi" to everyone... :greenWave:
They are still in the middle of training, and the only thing she REALLY doesn't like is the fact that everyone gets punished for what an individual does... one person already went AWOL, and they all had their phone privileges taken away for a weekend.
She also complained about the snow/the ice, and the cold.
But other than that - she sounded like a human being and we ended our conversation on a good note. :)

She did it during one of the exercises, I guess... she was hoping to come home to recuperate, but the Army had other ideas. :o
