and I am leaving on Wednesday! :greenWave:

Thank you all for letting me join the forum and for helping my Mother with Mickey. I am glad that she has so many friends to support her since I won't be there to help out with him.
I am very excited and can't wait to go. :)

Thanks. :)

Maybe someone can convince my Mother that this is a great thing for me, because she doesn't think so.

okay just re-read that and it didn't come out the way I meant, Jessica - that is not aimed at you, I grew up in the military and my son did a hitch...it's intended as just generic advise for the first bit. Okay, I'll shut up now I think I'm making it worse.

I had probably the same misgivings as your Mother when my oldest daughter joined the Army National Guard. But what she gained from that experience so far outweighed any negatives, I am thankful now that she did it.

I've been considering joining the military. Mom was ok with the airforce, but she would have flipped her lid if I had said army!

I just want to say good luck. Choose the right. And don't ever let the men get to you... Strap those balls on and make sure they hear the ching - ching as you walk through... Stay strong, stay alive and come home.... Deal? We'll miss you!!!!

Congrats, I know it is hard for your mom to understand but when you come home and she sees the pride in your face, hers will beam with pride also. My "adopted son" and Josh's brother from another mother, came home from the Marines in November and I understand now why he did it. Thank you.

Good thing Christine! I think that there are other areas of your society that need good people more than the army.

Oh, I have nothing against the Army or any of the other branches... I just don't think some people are a good fit, period. :)

I agree 100%... just didn't want to sound disrespectful towards any of our members who are in the service or have family members enlisted...

I am against war, always have been, and always will be. Don't want any of my children involved in it, especially if it means killing people or participating in any way, shape or form in the taking of others lives.
