Regulations governing pit-bulls to be reviewed following attack

17:23 Tuesday January 30th 2007

An inquiry has been launched after a pit-bull attacked a 13-year-old girl in north Dublin last night.
Louise Kelly was bitten several times on the leg near her home in Finglas, and was taken to Temple Street Hospital, where she underwent surgery today.

The local authority is investigating why the dog was not on a lead or wearing a muzzle.

Environment Minister Dick Roche said today that, while he was not planning an outright ban on the breed following the attack, regulations governing the ownership pf pit-bulls would be reviewed.

There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.
