Dog warden working on clarifying the role of his office
By Zachary Petit, zpetit@...

Dog Warden Matt Snook was on hand at the Seneca County commissioners board meeting Thursday to work toward clarifying the canine-related duties his office performs within the county.

Before Snook took office, Commissioner Dave Sauber said the former dog warden handled any calls regarding animal issues, even those for which the office is not responsible. In turn, county departments’ perception of the warden’s actual duties became muddled, an issue the board and Snook said has been improving.

Snook discussed drawing a new policy document to further assist municipal departments in understanding the procedures and correct contacts for dog bites and other issues his office does not cover under the Ohio Revised Code.
