TACOMA, Wash. -- Tacoma police shot and killed two dogs after the animals attacked two officers Wednesday morning.
One officer was bitten on the arm and the other on the leg.
A woman who was walking her dog called police when two pit bulls that were roaming in the neighborhood attacked her dog near 62nd and McKinley streets in Tacoma, police said.
The pit bulls attacked arriving officers, who shot and killed one of the pit bulls and the woman's dog, which had also begun attacking the officers.
The officers used a Taser on the other pit bull, which has been impounded.
Chopper 7 video showed numerous police vehicles outside El Hutchos Bar and Grill. A dead dog lay nearby.
A neighbor told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Kevin McCarty that he's never seen the dogs -- who are normally in a fenced yard -- on the loose before.
