A THREE-WEEK old baby seal was found under Broadstairs East Cliff by clever canine Hector.
The pup was discovered on Friday by the rottweiler out on a walk with owner, Margate jeweller Nina Hilton.
She said: "Rottweilers are normally known as dogs from hell but he ran up to it and started licking it.
"I looked up and didn't know what he was doing. He wouldn't come when I called him so I walked back and found him with the seal. The seal moved its head and I thought I had to call the emergency services."
The RSPCA, Thanet Coast Project education officer Naomi Biggs and marine mammal medic Brett Lewis saved the beached babe.
Naomi said: "The seal had no obvious cuts or grazes but was malnourished. It would not have been able to survive without its mother.
"About five or six seals are found washed up on Thanet's beaches every winter, but sadly most don't survive."
