Shreveport police are dealing with a rash of pit bull attacks.

Linda Boles was attacked by one on Mayfield street in Shreveport. She was walking through a front yard looking for her son.

She hobbled away only needing a few stitches.

Officers say it's a strain on them. Instead of preventing crime, they are tied up with dog attacks.

In the past year, police have had to shoot at least four pit bulls. Last week one was tazed after fighting with another dog
