WOODSTOCK, GEORGIA. -- A pit bull was being held Monday at Cherokee County Animal Control after allegedly attacking a woman.


Donna Hamilton told WSB-TV Channel 2 she was in her yard at 188 Darla Dr., Woodstock, at the Fountain Lake Mobile Home Park Sunday night when the dog's owner walked by with the pit bull on a retractable leash.


Hamilton said the dog lunged at her, biting her face and legs. She was taken to the hospital, treated and released.


The dog is being held at animal control while officers investigate.
