TOLEDO, OHIO -- Seven-year-old Zackary Swoboda was attacked by a pit bull earlier this week. His face and lip now sewn together by over 20 stitches. His mother, Phyllis, says because her son is autistic he feels little to no pain, so he did not suffer during the ordeal. However, the visible scars do need to be reconstructed and Zackary is meeting with a plastic surgeon next week to figure out what to do next. Needless to say his mom is angry.

"I really do think (pit bulls) are more dangerous," Phyllis Swoboda said. "I just don't like them. I wouldn't have one myself."

The dog's owner did surrender the pit bull to Lucas County Dog Warden Tom Skeldon.

"Nationally when you talk about maimings and disfigurations and death, pit bulls are so far ahead of the next closest type of dog you can't even see them in the rear view mirror," Skeldon said.
