Dogs aren't pit bulls: owner
Posted 17 hours ago
A female dog that police have deemed to be a pit bull, along with its seven-week-old pups, remains in the pound in Manitouwadge.

Police say the dog and its pups were taken last week after officers came upon them while searching a home for illegal drugs.

Police would not comment yesterday on the fate of the dogs, saying the case remains under investigation.

The dog's owner claims the adult dog is not a pit bull and wants it and the pups returned.

Ontario's pit bull ban allows current owners of the breed to keep them if they were obtained before the ban came into effect.

Pit bull owners must also meet certain conditions, including ensuring that females have been spayed.
